The ALCS (Airline Control System) is a transaction processing monitor or application server that is used for integrating TPF services into common mainframe operating systems such as MVS and z/OS, so as to provide online transaction management for ALCS applications utilized in the airline, hotel, and banking industries.

It offers all the key benefits of TPF, such as very high speed, high volume, and high availability in transaction processing, but also allows for easier integration into the data center by running on a standard IBM operating system platform.
